A mixed account generally occurs when someone with your same name or similar social security number mixes their credit information with yours. Often a Robert Smith will find that Bob Smith has the same information on his credit. If Robert Smith has some negative, derogatory information on his credit report and it ends up under your account, when it's not yours, that is what is considered a mixed account. Mixing with somebody else's credit information.
